JUNE LOCKHART – 95
June Lockhart has had a long and distinguished career as an actress and is currently 95 years old. June was born into a family of entertainers. Her father was Gene Lockhart, known for the Broadway production Ah! Wilderness in 1933 and her grandfather John Lockhart, was a concert-singer. She made her film debut in 1938 in A Christmas Carol and would go on to star in She-Wolf of London and The Yearling, among others.
June rose to a degree of prominence in the TV industry, playing the credit roles of mothers. She played Ruth Martin in Lassie from 1958 to 1964. In 1965, Lockhart starred as Dr. Maureen Robinson in the original Sci-Fi series Lost in Space. That same year, she starred as Ina Coolbrith in an episode of the Western Death Valley Days. And during the ’80s and ’90s, she was a regular in the soap opera General Hospital.
