Mike Love – 80

Along with his cousins, brothers Dennis, Brian, and Carl Wilson and their friend Al Jardine, Mike Love co-founded the American rock band The Beach Boys. In his entire career, he has been one of the band’s lyricists and vocalists, characterized by his nasal tenor singing. Love served as the frontman of the band in their live performances and contributed to all of the studio albums.

Love’s lyrics primarily reflected the youth surfing culture, romance, and car, which helped fashion pop culture’s insight of the “California Dream.” In 1988, as a member of The Beach Boys, Love was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame—credit to his amazing talent and skill. Apart from his musical career, he has been a longtime supporter of environmental causes, contributing to the More Hope For The Holidays album of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. In 2014, Love was awarded the Society of Singers Lifetime Achievement Award.
