Tippi Hedren – 91

Born as Nathalie Kay ‘Tippi’ Hedren, the American actress, former fashion model, and animal rights activist has enjoyed the better part of her years as a renowned actress in the film industry. She had her first stint in the Hollywood limelight back in the 1950s, where one of the most celebrated directors in film history, Alfred Hitchcock, discovered her in a commercial for a US diet drink called Sego. It was during this moment that their connection would form, culminating in the Hedren’s onscreen debut The Birds in 1963, and their last collaboration being the psychological thriller Marnie, released a year later.

Known for her sensual characters, her acting genes managed to pass onto her daughter, Melanie Griffith, as well as Griffith’s daughter, Fifty Shades of Grey star Dakota Johnson. The actress, now 91 years of age, lives in the Shambala Preserve in Acton, California, which she established in 1972.
