Sophia Loren – 86

Sofia Villani Scicolone, popularly known as Sophia Loren, is an Italian actress born on September 20, 1934. Besides her nationality, she was ranked 21st in the list of Greatest Female Star of Classic Hollywood Cinema by the AFI or American Film Institute. Currently, at the age of 86 years old, she is the one and only surviving actress on the list. Her interest in acting began after she participated in a beauty pageant. Fortunately, she was able to enter the entertainment scene, booking minor roles at first, until Paramount signed her for a five-picture contract. Among her notable film credits are Marriage Italian Style and Two Women, for which she received numerous Best Actress accolades, including an Academy, BAFTA, and Cannes Film Festival.

Loren’s win in the movie Two Women made her the first actress or actor to win an Academy for a foreign-language movie. Aside from this impressive feat, she also has the record of winning seven Best Actress awards at the David di Donatello Awards, the equivalent of an Oscars in Italy.
