Cher is famous around the world as the Goddess of Pop. She has entertained and captivated millions of her fans for nearly six decades. She first rose into prominence in 1965 through her partnership with Sonny Bono as the folk-rock duo called Sonny & Cher. They would go on to become a highly successful duo until 1975, when both parted ways. Around the same timeframe, Cher also embarked on a solo career. Throughout her career, Cher became a trendsetter for various fashion styles. Her shows take credit for making her trendsetter status known.

During the 1980s, she ventured into acting, achieving success on both Broadway and the silver screen. Her performance in Moonstruck got her an Oscar for Best Actress back in 1988. In later years, she achieved even greater success, with her 2002-2005 concert tour becoming one of the most successful to date. Outside of entertainment, Cher has been an advocate of LGBT rights and animal rights.
