HUGH DOWNS – 97

Another radio personality on our list is Hugh Downs, and he’s now 97 years old. Downs was a well-known radio broadcaster, but he has also been able to find success in television as a host, anchor, and TV producer. He was a regular presence from the 1940s to the late 1990s. He’s undoubtedly a veteran and has been one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood for several decades.

Hugh previously held the record for most hours in television before being surpassed by renowned game show host Regis Philbin. Nonetheless, you could argue that Hugh Downs had the same impact on appearing on television every night. Downs certainly deserves credit for his longevity in Hollywood. He also deserves praise for managing to find success in several platforms and industries. Besides his radio and television gigs, Downs was also a music composer, and he enjoyed making and playing music in his spare time.
