JOE GREENE – 74

Born in September of 1946, Joe Greene is one of the most memorable players in NFL history. He’s better known for his nickname “Mean” Joe Greene, and he played as a star defensive tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 1969 to 1981. Throughout his career, Joe received several awards, including two NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards, ten Pro Bowl appearances, and five first-team All-Pro selections. You could tell that he was one of the best players in the entire league.

After retiring from football, Greene was widely active in chasing several pursuits. He even got the chance to be an actor, and he has a couple of acting credits in his name. Greene’s first acting role came in the acclaimed film The Black Six. Of course, he also tried to carve a post-playing career in football, and he became a tenured assistant coach for several teams, including the Steelers, Cardinals, and Dolphins.
