LARRY HOLMES – 71
Larry Holmes is an iconic figure in the sport of boxing. He grew up in Easton, Pennsylvania, where he earned his moniker Easton Assassin. His ticket to success was his legendary jab, which is considered one of the best in boxing history. He became the WBC Heavyweight Champion in 1978 and would hold on to it until 1983. Subsequently, he became the IBF Heavyweight Champion from 1983 to 1985. Easton Assassin holds an impressive 19 championship title defenses to his credit, which is the second-most in the sport’s history.
Holmes retired from pro boxing in 2002 with a fight record of 69 wins with six losses. He boasts wins against prized fighters such as Marvis Frazier, Ken Norton, Gerry Cooney, and even the legendary Muhammad Ali. After retirement, Holmes became an International Boxing Hall of Famer in 2008. He is currently 71 years old and enjoys various business ventures in his hometown of Pennsylvania.
