Terry Gross – 70

American journalist Terry Gross is the host and co-executive of the radio show Fresh Air, which is produced by WHYY-FM in Philadelphia and broadcast nationwide by NPR. Gross has interviewed hundreds of people since joining NPR in 1975, even receiving accolades for her low-key, polite, yet frequently inquisitive interview style, as well as the range of her guests, over the years. She’s known for doing extensive study on her guests’ work the night before an interview, and for asking them surprising questions about their early careers.

Multiple well-known media outlets, the San Francisco Chronicles and the Boston Phoenix, to name a few, have time and time again praised Gross’s interview style. She is also given credit for being one of the best all-around interviewers of our time due to her warmth, genuine curiosity, and thoughtful questions that are guaranteed to please guests.
