Behind the facade of the famous band U2, Bono has earned a massive degree of respect from his fans for being a dedicated philanthropist and a faithful husband. During his teenage years in their native Dublin, he met his wife, Alison Hewson, long before he became a world-renowned music figure. The U2 frontman recalled that their first date ended with him walking her to the bus stop.

The couple exchanged “I do’s” in their early 20s and happily welcomed four kids together. Just recently, they celebrated a record-breaking 38 years of marriage. In popular opinion, only a few couples in Hollywood can achieve the feat of a long-lasting marriage. Speaking to the Irish Independent, the rockstar revealed his total devotion to his wife. Bono shared that his marriage to Hewson has been “a great magic carpet ride.” He further stated that he feels like holding on a lot tighter to his wife after all these years.
