DOLLY PARTON – CARL THOMAS DEAN

One of the longest-lasting marriages in Hollywood, Dolly Parton and Carl Thomas Dean have been together for nearly 60 years. They first met back in 1964 in Nashville when Parton was 18 while Dean was 21. It was pretty much another love at first sight scenario, and the duo dated shortly afterward. Two years later, in 1966, they tied the knot in a private ceremony. The only people in attendance were Parton’s mom, the preacher, and the preacher’s wife. While Parton eventually became the legendary singer she is today; Dean has mostly shunned the spotlight. Instead, he made his investment in running an asphalt-paving company.

Despite the longevity of their marriage, little information exists about their married life, which led to speculations rising about their relationship. What can be said is that Parton gives credit to their opposite dynamic for their marriage to last this long. While they have no children, their love remains strong, with them renewing their vows on their 50th anniversary in 2016.
